HALLOWEEN FAUX BURNING CANDLES DIY ♡

EASY HALLOWEEN FAUX BURNING CANDLES DIY

You'll need:
Wrapping paper tubes or paper towel tubes or TP tubes, hot glue gun & glue sticks, flat black spray paint, and battery operated tea lights from Dollar Tree.
 Pretty and no fire danger!

After picking the perfect spot for each tube, I glued them together to stay in place, then hot glued around the rims (drippy & wax-like) & finished it off with a few coats of flat black spray paint.

before & after with battery operated tea lights.

Such a beautiful Halloween decoration! I almost wish I could keep it up all year long. The flicker of the tea lights is so realistic and lovely. I bought so many packs of tea lights @ the dollar tree. They're the best invention! The only thing I would change about my finished diy would be - to have only used the paper towl and wrapping paper tubes (taller/longer tubes). I used mainly toilet paper tubes & glued many together to make them taller, leaving a not so seamless look. But being October when I made this, I had a few months before wrapping paper season and used what I had.

I will definately be making more again this year! My house will be a flickering candle castle!

^ THIS IS THE PINTEREST PHOTO I USED AS A REFERENCE WHEN MAKING MINE.

Such a fun craft and beautiful outcome! Start saving your tubes & try it out.

LEMON VASE DIY ♡

I love Lemons & I happen to have an old one laying around getting older. The skin was hard as a rock & it had shrunk so much I didn't think it was good for anything anymore. Until I remembered the pin I saw on Pinterest of the cutest vase using lemons! Another diy thanks to Pinterest!

This was last summer, so I only have a couple pics.

I'm hating myself now for not taking after pictures of the complete flower arrangement. I was probably so surprised there was actually anything inside my tiny shrunken lemon, haha. I finished it with some beautiful yellow Asiatic Lilies we have in our front yard.

I'll definately be recreating this as soon as they bloom this year, which should be soon. :) It was so simple and the after result was beautiful.

All you need for this diy is:  A vase of your liking, another smaller filler vase or in my case I used a shot glass, And whatever you want inside. Just put the smaller vase within the larger vase (obvi) & filler up :)

Here are some pictures from PINTEREST using the "vase within a vase" method.

Mine most resembled this one^ :):)

& More ideas!

Limes with white flowers, so elegant
Wine corks
Magnets
Holiday fruits (Christmas)
Candies, tulips and eggies (Easter)
Candy corn with Autumn flowers (Halloween)
Pastel tulips & conversation hearts (Valentines)
Red Hots candies & red tulips. So pretty <3
Jelly beans, or any other candy. (Skittles, M&Ms, chocolate covered peanuts!) YUM

I Love this Vase Within A Vase concept! So many endless ideas. PINTEREST strikes again.

ORANGE TEA LIGHT DIY ♡

I did this last summer.. when I first saw it on PINTEREST. (of course)
It was super easy, super FUN and super cute!

Here are my pics!

Excuse the messy counter. This was a year ago & I forget what I was making. Probably chicken salad, haha. (go-to chicken salad post for recipe)

So pretty & it actually works really well. (minus the tippy tips getting a little crispy after a while)

Just peel it the proper way (as I kindly did-not photograph). Keeping the long wic-like pulp strand in your orange for lighting.. like a wic.

Here are photo's from PINTEREST which are better at explaining.

I LOVE this DIY! You can personalize it anyway you want. I didn't think about it at the time I made my jagged design in my orange, but you could carve just about anything into your orange peel. Names, flowers, cute phrases, stars, anything!

If you want it to last longer keep an eye on it and refill the oil.

Try it next time you eat an orange!

MOTHER'S DAY 2012 ♡

I Love my Mom sooo much <3
So last MOTHER'S DAY I got crafty and made my mom a cute little tree-like branch centerpiece with delicate tissue paper flowers all over it. I basically just wanted to make something cute to stand out on the counter where I was going to leave her gifts.

There's alot of similar idea's or (Pins) on Pinterest... and that's where I got some help with the paper flower making. It was a very time consuming process, but after making what felt like thousands of flowers I got a rhythm going.

My Mom's never been a big fan of real flower's. She thinks they die too fast and are a waste of money. I kind of agree but I dry ALL my flowers so if they're givin to someone like myself it's never a waste. :)

Hand-made gifts are her favorite's

The pictures don't do it justice, But she loved it! I used branches from the cherry blossom tree in our yard. (They have such a pretty color and sheen)  Then wire wrapped them to a silver branch jewelry stand, trying to make it even with branches on both sides.

Then came the flower making...

Like I said, it was very time consuming and at times frustrating if you're a perfectionist like I am. I wanted them as life-like and real looking as possible. So I threw away tons.

I was going to stick with pink flowers only but I had so many bright colors. I made some bigger yellow flowers in a different shape and some tiny blue flowers the same style as the pinks. I used regular old christmas/birthday style tissue paper...

I also spelt out I <3 you in shells .. I have thousands so why not

The final touches were Bath & Body Works anti-bacterial PocketBac's in Japanese Cherry Blossom (My fav) & Vampire blood plum (from the Halloween 2012 collection). An extremely mushy card, and Bath & Body Works 14.5oz FROSTED CUPCAKE candle.

White chocolate Lindt balls, (our fav) And the Tangerine EOS medicated lip balm. I gave her the yellow Lemon drop EOS ball last summer and she used it down to nothing! It's literally flat and she still tries to use it obsessively.

The Lemon is the only one with SPF in it sadly. (SPF 15 to be exact)

                                                                       She was so happy =)

Here are some of the Pinterest pins I used for help with the flower making. (NONE OF THESE PHOTOS ARE MINE) As I stated when using the words Pinterest pins. ;)

Also after making mine I found some pins of centerpieces with paper flowers.. some were cuter than mine but o well now I know.

And branch centerpieces

^ I love this one !  & the cupcakes idea was so CUTE I had to throw it in there. =)

I don't know who originally pinned any of these photos minus the 1 tagged photo. But great and inspiring stuff! Pinterest never fails!

Wonder what i'll come up with for this coming up MOTHER'S DAY ..
