FRUIT & YOGURT KIND OF DAY ♡

Isn't every day?

I peeled two different types of oranges, (one huge orange and one cutie sized) mind you I obsessively devein and peel my oranges like no other human being...

I added cut banana & voila! MAGIC :) :)  I like the great value brand Vanilla. So good.

Stir it up; little darlin, stir it up. Come on, baby

MOTHER'S DAY 2012 ♡

I Love my Mom sooo much <3
So last MOTHER'S DAY I got crafty and made my mom a cute little tree-like branch centerpiece with delicate tissue paper flowers all over it. I basically just wanted to make something cute to stand out on the counter where I was going to leave her gifts.

There's alot of similar idea's or (Pins) on Pinterest... and that's where I got some help with the paper flower making. It was a very time consuming process, but after making what felt like thousands of flowers I got a rhythm going.

My Mom's never been a big fan of real flower's. She thinks they die too fast and are a waste of money. I kind of agree but I dry ALL my flowers so if they're givin to someone like myself it's never a waste. :)

Hand-made gifts are her favorite's

The pictures don't do it justice, But she loved it! I used branches from the cherry blossom tree in our yard. (They have such a pretty color and sheen)  Then wire wrapped them to a silver branch jewelry stand, trying to make it even with branches on both sides.

Then came the flower making...

Like I said, it was very time consuming and at times frustrating if you're a perfectionist like I am. I wanted them as life-like and real looking as possible. So I threw away tons.

I was going to stick with pink flowers only but I had so many bright colors. I made some bigger yellow flowers in a different shape and some tiny blue flowers the same style as the pinks. I used regular old christmas/birthday style tissue paper...

I also spelt out I <3 you in shells .. I have thousands so why not

The final touches were Bath & Body Works anti-bacterial PocketBac's in Japanese Cherry Blossom (My fav) & Vampire blood plum (from the Halloween 2012 collection). An extremely mushy card, and Bath & Body Works 14.5oz FROSTED CUPCAKE candle.

White chocolate Lindt balls, (our fav) And the Tangerine EOS medicated lip balm. I gave her the yellow Lemon drop EOS ball last summer and she used it down to nothing! It's literally flat and she still tries to use it obsessively.

The Lemon is the only one with SPF in it sadly. (SPF 15 to be exact)

                                                                       She was so happy =)

Here are some of the Pinterest pins I used for help with the flower making. (NONE OF THESE PHOTOS ARE MINE) As I stated when using the words Pinterest pins. ;)

Also after making mine I found some pins of centerpieces with paper flowers.. some were cuter than mine but o well now I know.

And branch centerpieces

^ I love this one !  & the cupcakes idea was so CUTE I had to throw it in there. =)

I don't know who originally pinned any of these photos minus the 1 tagged photo. But great and inspiring stuff! Pinterest never fails!

Wonder what i'll come up with for this coming up MOTHER'S DAY ..

GENTLE GIANT ♡

I met the HUGEST dog EVER!

I've seen big Great Dane's and big Poodles even (yes poodles) around my neighborhood before but nothing compared to the girth of this big baby!

My boyfriend and I went by a friend's house a few weeks ago and got a BIG surprise..

Just look at his head compared to the arm of the couch!

His head is enormous!!

I was kind of shocked by it when I first saw him, it's amazing.

He's a Bullmastiff, & sweet as pie!

Just turned 3 a week ago.

He's so loving and sweet! & His head felt like velvet.

We've seen him a hand full of times since first meeting him, and I fall in love everytime.

I want him!

He didn't want to sit still after we got there, so I didn't get any other good full size shots.

He kept trying to sit on my lap the whole time, and failing since he's bigger than me :) :)

GOODBYE EASTER 2013 ♡

Hope everyone had a great EASTER :)

This was my first year EVER not dying eggs! & I deeply deeply missed it!

I don't have kids of my own yet but I love dying eggs (who doesn't).
I'll usually make deviled eggs the day after with my creations but I just forgot to pick up a dye kit this year.  grrrr

Still had an awesome EASTER :)
Went to a cookout at my Boyfriend's parent's house with his family. (No pics unfortunately) Lots of food and youngsters.
He has 6 nieces and nephews, 3 girls/3 boys. Never a dull moment!

Here's some pic's of my EASTER snacks

Look like real dyed eggs in a carton don't they!

I was so happy when I went to the Dollar Tree for some candy and found my childhood Easter basket FAV, Bubble gum eggs!

Still pretty tasty and super cute! My boyfriend actually found them so i'll give him some credit :) I was very pleased

Blow pops too! Aren't they on everyone's Dollar Tree list?

My Boyfriend's Mom is always crafting and coming up with cute ideas. (she's the originial Pinterest)

She's always got something cute for every holiday.

She got these jello molds that make a bunch of tiny tiny eggs and made a bunch of flavors for the kids.

Last year she made the big eggs like a normal actual size egg made of jello and the kids would take a few bites and be done with it. So these bite size eggs were perfect!

I'm not a big jello eater so these little eggs were perfect for me too. :)

Orange was orange, Blue blueberry, Purple grape, Red cherry, and Green lime

She made a ton of each flavor! Cherry's the biggest hit (as you can see)

My Mom brought us some cupcakes! :) Like we really needed more sugar!

I ate a vanilla one first!

The BF's Mom also made these cute little bunny sugar cookies!

That's it for the treats, as far as pictures go

Hope everyone's EASTER was as enjoyable as mine was. :)

MOLLY'S FIRST BEACH TRIP ♡

We live right by the beach, so the day before Molly's appointment to get spayed we took the little munchkin to play!

She is quick as lightning!
We usually run her at a park near our house.
At 4 months or so she was already a pro at fetching the ball and bringing it back :)

Cute little seagull footprints.

It was super cold but she loved the sand in her toes!

She's the Queen of the world!

BROCCOLI SALAD ♡

So yummy! Found the recipe on Pinterest and made it my own a bit by changing some ingredients :)

If you like broccoli you will love this.

It's originally a side dish but after making it I realized it would be amazing on top of a baked potato!

INGREDIENTS

    • 1 head fresh broccoli, cut into bite size pieces
    • 1/4 cup red onion, chopped
    • 16 oz bacon cooked and chopped
    • Sharp/cheddar cheese block, cut into small cubes
    • Cherry tomatoes, cut in half
    • 3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
    • 2 tablespoons white sugar
    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise/mayo

    DIRECTIONS

    1. Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.
    2. In a medium bowl, combine the broccoli, onion, tomatoes, and cheese. In a small bowl, whisk together the vinegar, sugar and mayonnaise. Pour over broccoli mixture, and toss until well mixed. Refrigerate for at least two hours.
    3. Before serving, toss salad with crumbled bacon.

This was after mixing everything (broccoli, onion, tomato, cheese) minus the bacon & sauce.
The sauce ingredients seemed odd to me at first but it is so good!
    Try it!

Top photo's parfait is from Farm Fresh. Fresh strawberries! good ole' Farm Fresh :)

McDonald's parfait's are really good though. Definately not the freshest of fruit, but filled with really yummy yogurt and I love Nature Valley granola!
